Why I Like Being "Boring"

A while back I watched a TV documentary about a body builder and the foods he has to maintain his weight. His routine was more or less the same: he ate the same food, did the same exercises, and focused on the same things. He said when you've found what you love doing, life doesn't change. It's the same old, same old.

I believe that which is Real is always constant and never changes.

Love is Real.

The world doesn't like constancy. There's got to be drama and lots of challenges or life is considered boring and uninteresting. Mainstream media, for example, thrives on drama i.e. conflicts, crises, disasters, wars, etc. You'll be hard pressed to find news stories about people leading peaceful lives where nothing really changes because they're happy being who they are.

Every day, I meditate; I ponder on and am inspired by the same ideas; I affirm the same beliefs; I write about more or less the same stuff. Why? Because I love these ideas, which make life meaningful for me. I usually have a new take on the ideas but it's still the same old, same old.

Every day I have the same diluted mixed fruit drink and I have raisins. Why? Because I love them.

Is it any wonder why when I meet people I haven't seen in ages they tell me I always look the same? Aha! There's the secret of eternal youth - do the same old stuff that you love and you'll look the same.

I like being boring; challenges are overrated.
